We have been covering more of the bouncing ball practice which I had done previously in 2018, exploring principles like squash and stretch, follow through etc. I am already quite familiar with the 12 principles but I was glad to have this time to refine my knowledge of squash and stretch which might be the most fun ones. I have not created anything particularly noteworthy so far, but I have enjoyed making these little basic loops and getting to know the other people in the class.
I am looking forward to getting into more meaty projects where I can be a bit more in depth with my practice. I also have not gone to the puppet animation workshop yet, so maybe I’ll do that on Monday. Stop motion is probably the style of animation I am least practiced in, so it will be a fun challenge to see what I can achieve and whether any of my other skill are transferrable. I am also due to have the MAYA workshop on Tuesday which should be quite fun, although I personally find Blender much more accessible and user friendly, but again I hope the skills I have taught myself in that programme can be applied to MAYA. Overall, I am enjoying the course and looking forward to it becoming a bit more challenging.
