Being a frill necked lizard for three hours was a lot of fun, but I can still feel the neck ache even as I write this. I think the approach of imitating whatever it is that you are drawing is very effective, and often find myself making faces as I draw to capture how expressions should feel. Particularly with lip syncing, I find that the feeling of the shape you make with your mouth is easy to translate to a character. This works for poses and movement too, and I think this session was a great refresher on this idea. It was really great seeing everyone in the class so involved and into it as well, with such a wide variety of weirdo animals. Hope we get to do more strange sessions like this after Christmas.
